Flashback Festivus Friday.. and Santa, Baby
16

Here’s my Flashback Friday Foto. It consists of two creepy-Santa photos of my little brother and I in like 1973-1975ish era (pigtail ribbons were hot, dude) and then part of my creepy vintage Santa collection currently on my mantel. Creepy Santas rock!
So guess what? Me and my bloggy buddy @Ooph are having a twitter party. We have NO idea what we’re doing, so bear with us.
The Santa Baby Bash is Tuesday night, December 22 (as in FIVE days from now). We have some cool crap to give away.
BedHead Pajamas sent me these COOLIO PJ’s for you guys:

They’re super yummy cotton Pink/Green Sateen pajamas size L*.
Value? $138, baby. Only the finest for the Pajamas and Coffee (and Ooph.com!) readers. Go over there and see what Ooph is giving away. Also, to complete the coffee in the Pajamas and Coffee, I’m offering two bags of @8OClockCoffee (follow on twitter!):
Wanna win the rockin PJs and hawt coffee? Go write a funny Christmas song by changing the words to a classic (like I did on my 12 Days: Eff Christmas post). Do a post. Then come here and link to your hilarity in the comments section. If you’re not a blogger, email it to me at marymac@pajamasandcoffee.com.
All entries must be submitted by noon on Monday, December 21. On Monday and Tuesday we can all chat up our posts on twitter using hashtag #santababy. At 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time Tues we’ll engage in a crapload of what I like to call MUTUAL BLOGSTURBATION. We will be climbing all over each others blogs reading and commenting and deciding which songs will be our faves. The top three will win prizes. Should be lots of fun. It’s like a little Pajamas and Coffee Holiday Festivus Party!
Random, Unrelated Confession: until yesterday, I had no idea what “Festivus” was. Yeah, I’m a moron, and I was happy my friend Helen told me about the Seinfeld holiday phenom. I really need to go back and watch the Seinfelds- I think I was like working and in college and then getting married and having babies in the late 80s early 90s so I missed like the entire culturally iconic Seinfeld era. Will Netflix.
Happy Festivus Weekend, guys!
*If you are a size small, do not depress me by telling me. Give them to one of your big girl friends, bitch!

OK, you’re starting to freak me out. Not only did we both blog about Ugly Christmas Sweaters, but I ALREADY posted my own version of a Christmas song! *Cue twilight zone music* Here’s my version of Santa Baby: http://www.puttingthefunindysfunctional.com/2009/12/dear-santa.html
ok, dysfunctional mom, you’re IN. There was no rule saying if you’ve already done a Christmas parody song you can’t count it as an entry. SOME people just finish their homework EARLY!
xo
I don’t have a Christmas song in me, just about 25 lbs of cookie dough… but I had to say that my husband has those freaky old 60′s santas everywhere (he finds them at thrift stores) and they give me nightmares.
I wrote a (vulgar) Christmas song which Vodka Logic was kind enough to post for me:

Blogsturbation? Love it. Actually that’s pretty appropriate to the song…
Or MAYHAPS you just instinctively KNEW that Seinfeld really actually SUCKED and the only funny things it produced were Festivus and the Soup Nazi (which they didn’t even really come up with, the guy actually exists)… OOOOH now I’m gonna get the Seinfeld haters all up in my blog and stuff. Oh well… off to defile a holiday classic and make up my own version of Cheech and Chong’s Christmas Song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9unEWSbT-gU all in a effort to win PJs I’ll have to give back to YOU cuz they won’t fit me.. it’s a conspiracy I tell ya!!!
Damn. I’d love to participate, but 8pm Eastern is 2am here. My mom is arriving on Tuesday, and I need to get enough sleep before then, so There’s less smoke coming out of my ears during the following week.

HAHAHAHA!
Happy Festivus! I have seen every Seinfeld except the one where he cheats on his barber, which of course, my clients refer to daily!
Are you allowed to enter twice?

Here is mine: http://creative.spayce.com/holiday/all-i-want-for-christmas-is-a-lobotomy.html
You will have to scroll down to the bottom of the post to read it, since I do like to blab on a bit!
It’s much shorter and less eloquent than UberGrumpy!
But of course I may not be able to participate in twitteration, as I’ll either be asleep or totally offline, since I can’t afford the roaming charges of international data transfer!
I’m all kinda thrown out of the timezone loop down under!
Oh good ‘ole Festivus…I used to live for that show!
Have an awesome holiday girl!

It’s not exactly a song, and I did it for the Citizen of the Month shindig, but it’s definitely silly and Christmas themed – does that count?

I’m cutting it close, I know – but I finished my rendition of Jingle Bells..
It may not be all that great, but I’m kinda proud of it! I’ve never tried to re-write a song before – and I may never again, but it was fun! (Oh, and did I mention that it kept me busy for two hours at work?)

Good luck to everyone! See you on Twitter! =) (@dariasblog)
Congrats everyone on these fantastic entries! (Daria- 6 minutes to spare! Nice!)
Winners will be announced at 8 pm tomorrow night Dec. 22 live on twitter (@marymac and @ooph with hashtag #santababy) and I’ll add a comment here announcing as well.
Thanks for all your holiday creative efforts!
at 8pm tomorrow night your time, I THINK it’s noon here in Sydney. I may still be on the way home from picking up hubby at the airport. But I will defy speed limits in order to attend!
I have gone off and read the other entries and am now stalking them on twitter. Now see what you’re responsible for.
