Disney Magic
14
Today I am on a plane to Disneyworld with my family.

This is a picture of our trip to Disney three years ago.
With four kids, I see it like this: each kid gets one trip to Disney. My oldest Sarah got to go at age 3, we went back when Molly was 4, and the above picture was Faith’s trip (prime princess age, 3 1/2). The trip we’ve left for today is all about Bobby (age 4) and Lightning McQueen, Buzz Lightyear, Woody and the Pirates. After three girls’ trips, it will be fun to have a ‘boy trip’ to Disney.
My fave moment from this trip three years ago?

Of course, meeting my role model, The Evil Queen. Don’t you love how my kids in the picture are all ‘um, can we go see Nemo or something?’ and I’m like the little kid. “Ooh! Can I get your autograph?!”
Yeah. That was awesome, but my fave pic from that trip a few years back was this one, of Faith, since it was her trip:

My kids are like way too ghetto to go to Bibbidy Boppity Boutique or whatever it’s called where they ‘princess you out’ and all, but we DID finally get to go to Cinderella’s castle for breakfast. First daughter’s trip? Went up and tried to get in and they were all ‘um, you need reservations.’ Second daughter’s trip? Called 3 months ahead, and they were all ‘um, you have to call 6 months ahead.’ FML. Third daughter’s trip? Called 6 months to the day ahead of time and were rewarded with awesome mom-and-3-daughters Cinderella castle breakfast. The food was even yummy!!

This picture is funny not just because my teenager will MURDER ME for running a 3-year-old pic of her, but also because dontcha love her middle school attitude here like “I am wayyy too cool in my Aeropostale shirt to be eating with Cinderella. GOD, MOM!” while the middle girl is like “mmhmm, whatever” but little Faith is like “SQUEEEEEE!”
Oh, and here’s one final pic from that 2006 trip:

This one is for my guy readers, who say my blog is too girly. Here is the hottest princess pic I could find. Jasmine’s little outfit is a Whole New World, huh?! You’re welcome, Aladdins.
So off to Disney I am* this week, and I have preposted my blog for the week (yep, there will be a post every day because I am going to finish this BloPoMo thing if it kills me) and hope you will come by each day and say hello. (Don’t think just because I’m spinning on teacups I won’t notice there weren’t as many comments- please chime in with your fave Disney moment or something so I don’t get depressed when I get home.)
I’m off to remember the magic.**
*and for some reason talking like Yoda
** and by ‘magic’ I of course mean ‘trying to keep my kids from getting Swine Flu in a park full of people and their germs from all over the world.’
Note: It will be interesting to see how I do on the whole ‘unplugging for the week’ thing- I will probably have to send a few Disneyfied tweets or something in order to get my social notworking fix!

Have a fun trip and safe travels! happy Thanksgiving!
I can’t believe that I have never taken my boys to Disneyland and now I fear they are getting too old for all of the magic.
Part of me dreads the rides that I know they’ll force me to go on after eating hot dogs and cotton candy.
Have fun! Look forward to reading about it.
Have a great trip!!! xoxo
Your social notworking fix? LMAO.
Seriously though, what a great way to spend Thanksgiving w/the fam. I don’t really have one favorite Disney moment…but my favorite souvenir were my mouse ears. Now, MIA. How I could misplace that rather large, felty fave of mine…I tear up just thinking about it:) And yet I still have a tiny, smooshed penny of Ariel. Go figure.
Wishing you a great vacay!!
I have not been to Disney since I was like 3. I used to live in Florida too.. I have to go back and soon!! LOL. I love Disney. Happy Thanksgiving!! Have a great and safe trip….
Have a blast down there. The holidays are some of the best times to spend at the hap-hap-happiest place on Earth. But you must check out the Wine & Food Fest at Epcot one year (adult-oriented, or disoriented, trip to say the least).
I’m 37 and I still Squeeeeeee! when I see Cinderella! Love her! Have a GREAT time in the Magic Kingdom!!
Have fun!!! We’re going in January for a soccer tournament. My husband and son will be all “Look at us whooping it up at [insert cool theme park of the day]” and I’ll be all “OMG, if I don’t kill my daughter’s soccer coach before this weekend is over”….
can’t wait

Have a blast! I’m in the midst of planning my own Disney trip, and soooo jealous right now! (Army boy has never been. So there will definitely be blackmail “first look at the magic kingdom” pics. mwah ha ha)
We went to Disney back in February and I cannot peg just one moment as my favorite. We did have a great time when we left the kids with Grandma and did a little “drink around the world” thing at Epcot. I just wish I would remember what happened after France……oh well.
Have a great time and Happy Thanksgiving!

you don’t have to be in Disneyland to be spinning in teacups. I am pretty sure you’re doing that most days!
But have a great time!
Have a great time at DisneyWorld! I’ve never been there, but that’s probably because I live so close to the other Disney that I can hear the 9:30pm fireworks every damn night.
Enjoy the magic! Hope you can sneak in a Mickey Mojito while you’re there. =)
Have a great trip! We will all be here when you get back. No more depression medication for you!!!!
